Appointments

We offer an appointment system but will always attend to urgent medical problems as necessary. For an appointment, phone 01275 866766 (lines open from 8.00am).

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know so we can offer it to someone else.

Routine appointments are for 10 minutes.

Emergency doctor appointments - the doctor will only be able to deal with one matter at this appointment.

We have Nurse Clinicians who triage same day appointment requests. They are able to offer advice on the phone and see patients.  The appointments with the Emergency Doctor are for genuinely urgent matters which need attention on the same day.  Please use this service appropriately.

Several doctors work part time and hence are not here every day. Each of the doctors has a surgery for which appointments may be booked except when they are acting as Emergency Doctor.

Home Visits

We will make home visits to patients who are too unwell to come to the surgery.

However, before requesting a home visit please remember that we can see as many as six patients in the surgery in the time that it takes to make one house call.

It would be appreciated if requests for home visits could be made by 10:30am if possible. This will enable us to plan our work.

Please note that it may not always be possible to make non-urgent visits the same day.

Telephone Appointments

Telephone Appointments typically last 5 minutes. The doctor will ring you at a pre-arranged time as part of their routine surgery.

It is also possible to speak to a Nurse Clinician on the phone.

Every day, we have an Emergency Doctor. This GP does not hold a normal surgery but has appointments available for those who need to see a doctor with an urgent problem which simply cannot wait another day.

Sometimes it is difficult to get a quick appointment with the GP of your choosing, but if your medical condition is genuinely urgent, you will always be offered an appointment with the emergency doctor on the day you call.

In the first instance, however, you may wish to talk to one of our Nurse Clinicians to see if they can help. They are fully qualified to assess your condition and are able to prescribe antibiotics if required. They will also arrange for you to see the emergency doctor if they are unable to resolve your problem. Therefore, if you are concerned that you may have a throat/chest/ear infection, have a rash that is worrying you or another such minor ailment/injury, please ask for a telephone call from the Nurse Clinician first and they will be able to advise.
